I have more than
25 years experience of applied statistics and programming for clinical
and nonclinical research and development. After early experience as a
computer programmer and systems analyst, I worked as a statistician in
manufacturing industry (product development, QC, QA) for 3½ years
and in clinical research in the National Health Service for
2½ years before spending eight years in the pharmaceutical
industry with Fisons Pharmaceuticals, Warner Lambert and
G D Searle. From 1988 to 2009 I provided a successful consulting
service in statistics and data management to the pharmaceutical industry and
contract research organisations. My clients included many companies in Although medical research and especially the pharmaceutical industry
are my main areas of expertise, my clients have also included businesses,
charities and individuals in other fields, including nonclinical
pharmaceutical work and work for clients in the legal, educational and
archaeological fields. |

(Statisticians in the Pharmaceutical Industry). I have used SAS for
statistical programming for more than 20 years. I have also developed
Excel applications for use by clients in their own analyses.
